They grow up fast!

I measured the kiddos this week. I measure them about once a month, it is just fun to see if they have grown. Sometimes they haven't, and then sometimes they shock you and grow an inch!

Both of them had grown during August. Gabbie is now 46" tall. Davy is now 40" tall. They are growing an average of .25" a month, seeing as both of them grew 3" in the past year. So, giving them another three months to Christmas, plan on them each being 1 inch taller when thinking about winter clothes this year!

Looks like Gabbie will need a 6X and Davy will need a 4T. He has been wearing 3Ts for so long, that I think he will be needing the 4s for his height, though not for his waist! Both of my kids are string beans currently. Gabbie especially is long and lean. Davy is just ALL muscle.

Gabbie is getting so close to losing her first tooth. Her first permanent tooth broke through this week, behind her baby tooth, which is actually preventing the baby tooth from being wiggled enough to make it come out. I'm hoping this gets resolved on its own and we don't have to get the dentist involved.

I bought her a tooth fairy book last night, as she wanted to know more about the tooth fairy. It is a cute book, with an emphasis on good dental hygiene, which every kid needs!

Davy is exploring earth worms, and was sad to discover that his wormy friend from yesterday "melted" by this morning. He actually did the opposite of melting, he dried up into a stick like thing. Poor little buddy, having to learn the hard way that worms don't keep overnight in your dumptruck toy!

So my kids are growing and changing, and I feel sometimes that time won't move fast enough, yet it moves so fast that I have a hard time catching each day as it comes and holding onto a few precious memories.
